Talking About Language and Culture (TALC) Discussion Group

As part of its mission to cultivate the best practices in language teaching at the University of Notre Dame, the CSLC invites expressions of interest from language faculty to participate in a small, intimate discussion group dedicated to meeting and debating theoretical approaches to foreign language teaching.

The CSLC's Talking About Language and Culture (TALC) Discussion Group will convene once a month (approximately four or five times per semester) to discuss a preassigned book/books on language pedagogy. Limited to 5-6 participants, this Discussion Group will provide a forum for lively and thought-provoking discussions about how to continue to refine language teaching and learning at Notre Dame. It will also cultivate a community of language faculty interested and committed to staying abreast with the latest developments in second language acquisition research.

Any foreign language faculty interested in joining a TALC Discussion Group, please contact Dr. Denise Ayo (dayo@nd.edu).

Participants are required to fully commit to monthly meetings.
