Bloomsday 2015

Literature lovers commemorated James Joyce's masterpiece Ulysses at the “Bloomsday in the Bend” event on June 16, 2015. The Center for the Study of Languages and Cultures and other members of the local community read selections of the classic novel inside the cozy Chicory Cafe in downtown South Bend. This is the second year that the CSLC's Denise Ayo has directed this celebration of Western literature.

Summer Language Abroad Program Highlighted by the College of Arts & Letters

In a recent article published on the website of the College of Arts & Letters, author Grace Guibert details the experiences of several students who had the opportunity to participate in SLA. 

One student was able to go to Ireland to work on her Irish language skills, and says of her experience: "The experience has helped me narrow my search of what I want to focus my studies on in my next two years at Notre Dame...
