Don Keough's Passing

Author: Denise Ayo

The Center for the Study of Languages and Cultures is sad to announce that Don Keough passed away on the morning of Tuesday, February 24th.  Mr. Keough, an Atlanta business icon, is perhaps most well known as the former president of Coke. However, for Notre Dame students, faculty, staff, and alumni, he is best remembered for his role as chairman emeritus of Notre Dame’s Board of Trustees and his support of various academic units on campus. Mr. Keough, for example, generously donated to the CSLC’s Summer Language Abroad grant, allowing innumerable students to travel abroad to improve their second language abilities.

Mr. Keough will be missed terribly, and we thank him for all he has done for Notre Dame students.
