Quechuan Music Basak Inst Post

****This event has been cancelled****

The music of the Quechua is in many ways unique in the Western hemisphere. Early explorations of the music of the Andes shows that it has one of the most unique and most highly developed art forms, and the mountain origins of this music is haunting due to the use of panpipes (made famous in the United States with the singing duo Simon and Garfunkel in the 1960s with their hit song El Condor Pasa).

In this presentation, FLTA Delia Salazar Alcuna will explore the music of the Quechua as she shares the history and how it influences music in Bolivia today.

All are welcome!
