Second Language Effects on Brain Aging


The BBC News published an article on the health benefits of learning a second language on the brain. The BBC cites research that people who speak "two or more languages..." have "significantly better cognitive abilities to what would have been expected from their baseline test." Whether a second language is acquired in childhood or in adulthood, the active use of a second language slows down cognitive decline.
