Student-Driven German Language Table

The German program is inaugurating a weekly German Table for all students who are interested in practicing their German over lunch. German speakers of all levels are welcome, from beginning to advanced.

The inaugural lunch will be this coming Monday, March 3, from 11:30 to 12:30 in North Dining Hall. Feel free to come whenever you can. We will meet in the smaller, northernmost room, beyond the pasta bar. If that room should ever be closed, we will meet at a table in the main area, but as far to the north as possible.

Whereas Kaffeestunde and Stammtisch are faculty-hosted events, the weekly German Table will be student-driven. About a dozen students have expressed interest in the weekly German table, and others will surely want to join them. Faculty will occasionally attend, and I look forward to being at the first lunch this Monday.

Students who are not part of the campus meal plan may obtain a meal ticket simply by visiting the Department’s administrative assistant, Alicia Olejnik, in 318 O’Shaughnessy Hall. The Nanovic Institute for European Studies has generously provided funding for these tickets.
