In Spring of 2020, a faculty committee recommended implementing a new learning management system (LMS) to better leverage technology for education at Notre Dame. That led to the creation of a 15 member team, made up of colleagues from the Office of Information Technologies.

Over the next two years, the LMS Transition to Canvas Project Team successfully trained faculty, integrated software and migrated courses to the new platform, consistently surpassing goals during the transition process. The team also ensured existing education technology was supported during the transition, while managing the evolution of the new platform and communicating changes.

The LMS Transition to Canvas Project Team was honored on the field of the Notre Dame vs. California game on Saturday, Sept. 17 for exemplifying the University’s core values and receiving the Presidential Team Irish Award.
