Jalle Gebisa

Administrative Coordinator

As an Ethiopian-American, Jalle moved to the United States at an early age and completed most of her education in Indiana, including her bachelor's degree. Upon graduation, she moved to Washington D.C. and served as the Reading Program Coordinator for a tutorial program. After D.C., Jalle served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Zambia as a Rural Education Development (RED) Volunteer. During her time, she learned the local language and cultural nuances of life in her rural community, worked at the District Education Office (DEO), and served as a liaison with the Provincial Education Office (PEO), NGOs and the Peace Corps Zambia offices. Since returning to the U.S., she has been committed to engaging in social justice issues, cross-cultural exchanges and sharing her passion for languages and diverse communities. She is thrilled to join this dynamic team, oversee the Peer Tutoring program and serve the larger ND community.
